PROJECT MINOTAUR / WEB DESIGN & BRANDING
Project Minotaur is the project name for the DL450, a hybrid machine with all the advantages of a small loader and the power of a dozer. First presented to industry acclaim at ConExpo in 2017, the DL450 is now set to launch at ConExpo 2020. But rather than just announcing the new product at the show, we wanted to bring people along for the story of the whole process — from concept to production. Designed to be clean, modern, and easy to navigate, the site allows the article and video content chronicling the story to be the hero.
PROCESS: ORIGINAL DESIGN AND DESIRES
Below is a rotation with some of the initially presented and chosen concept designs for the website. Intended to be a bit larger in scope, this design featured everything from video pages to articles to engineer’s journals to a tech and specs page. The goal was for the site to hold every possible bit of content that could have been released about the machine on its way to production, and to facilitate the greatest possible customer engagment and feedback through the design process. For ease of programming and concern over releasing too much too soon, these plans were trimmed back to focus only on article and video content instead.
